David MacDonald spent 19 years in banking and wealth management in the UK, during which he tackled client-facing roles, team leader roles, and regional sales management roles. Through this time, his various positions saw him work with National Australia Bank Group, RBS Group, and Barclays Group.

David was a founding Director of macsimize in 2001, a learning and development business focused on the banking and financial services industry, serving clients in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa from 2001.

David is now Managing Director and Head of Consulting & Learning Solutions at
Hubbis.  Based in Singapore, his areas of responsibility include: client relationship management and business development; creating and implementing holistic learning and development solutions for clients across South-East Asia; and developing a range of skills and behavioural change-related learning & development solutions to the Hubbis platform to complement the online learning.

Sunao has nearly 20 years of consulting and training experience. Prior to moving to Singapore, he was based in Tokyo and worked for a management consulting firm assisting foreign firms entering the Japanese market.  In 2001, in a major consulting assignment, Sunao established and successfully led a Japanese call centre operation providing mobile healthcare services to several multinational companies in the financial services industry across Japan.

Sunao is fluent in English and Japanese and very familiar with different behavioural and management styles and the cultural diversity challenges between US, European, SouthEast Asian and Japanese teams.

His experience includes helping teams improve operational efficiencies and sales force optimisation, resulting in improved bottom line results. He is well versed in leadership transition and change management issues, particularly with multicultural teams.

Sunao’s strengths lie in balancing a methodological approach with cultural and personal sensitivities and ensuring clients gain direct benefits from organisational development initiatives.

Sunao is a member of the Singapore Training and Development Association, and certifed in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Personality Profile, the Extended DISC, and IoweU's Better Buyer Relationships.

While in Japan, Sunao worked with a number of financial institutions, including major insurance companies. David has held a variety of senior roles in the Sales and Marketing functions in the UK, the Channel Islands, and more recently, Malaysia. With over 20 years of professional experience, he has in the last three years, been engaged in over 20 individual consultancy assignments within the Asean region helping clients refine and enhance their distribution strategies and sales effectiveness.

His background as a practising Financial Adviser and Associate member of the UK's Society of Financial Advisers, affiliated with the Chartered Insurance Institute, he has significant and meaningful experience that he applies to consulting and training interventions that focus on the Banking and Finance sector.

Through his MBA studies, and having had direct "cost centre" responsibility within the RBS Group, he has been able to apply more generalist skills with his specific domain knowledge in sales and sales management to assist clients in a multitude of organisational and human capital development issues.

David has participated and led an extensive range of significant change management programmes covering general cultural issues to specific sales and service issues. He has also facilitated strategic and business planning reviews for Exco's, carried out executive coaching, teambuilding and various other skill based and business orientation events.

Having travelled extensively with his business interests and worked within rapidly changing and challenging environments, David is at ease in working across organisational reporting lines and with multi-cultural teams of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
